Frank G. Vega, 78 of Coupland passed away on Sunday May 17, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Rosalinda Vega (Chacha); his daughter, Brenda Vega; his son, Frank Vega II and his wife April Vega; his daughter, Nydia Willard; his son, Peter Vega; his son Mario Vega and his wife Angela Vega; 11 grandchildren; his brother, Anthony Vega and his wife Alice Vega; his sister, Emily Sanchez and her husband, Efrain Sanchez; and many relatives and close friends.
Born and raised around the Thrall/Coupland area, Mr. Vega attended Thrall High School. He served in the US Air Force from May 1957 to May 1961. He married the love of his life on April 16, 1966. He retired from ALCOA in Rockdale after 30 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas.
An avid farmer, Mr. Vega enjoyed working on his farm and raising cattle. His Blue Heelers were well trained and followed him everywhere. His passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MDAnderson Cancer Center in honor of Mr. Vega.

Funeral services will be private but the family is accepting visitors at the home of Mr. Vega.
