On Tuesday April 28th, 2015 Rose Anita (Bunny) Dileonardo ascended into the heavens. After battling several illnesses, Bunny as she was called by family was just days over 90 years old. The world lost a woman with a great big beautiful heart and soul. “Yous guys”, as Rose would say, have come to know her as a strong willed, loving, caring, strong and stern mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and most importantly a friend to all who she came to know.
The most valued possession to Rose was her family and their well-being. Rose was constantly reaching for the arms and hands of her loved ones and friends. They were her reason for living as she was passionate about the family she had nurtured and created.
She devoted her life to raising both her children, brother and grandchildren. She never hesitated to take in others who needed some extra love and care, or simply a tasty meal. Her braciola, spaghetti, garlic rolls, cookies, and cannolies along with her amiable self, will never be forgotten.
Rose was a flower, constantly blooming and filling our homes and hearts with love and joy. In her final years of life she never held back the laughs, the love, or the fun. Even when bound to the house, Rose had a grand network of friends. She was always calling about her latest revelations, eating donuts, drinking coffee, and playing with her pup, Miss Priss.
Although she is no longer here to physically hold our hands and offer comfort, her spirit will always be in our hearts. When we feel lost and lonely may we remember that Rose will always be there to guide, support, and protect us as she always has. She is our guardian angel.
Rose now rests in Peace in the Lord’s care, surrounded by friends and family which preceded her in death. Wherever Rose now rests, may it will be filled with margaritas, lobster, slots, bingo, chocolate, and gold. May she always know that we would not be where we are today without her nurturing and caring touch.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Frederick Caruso,
Her husband Anthony C. Dileonardo, her sisters Helen “Chookie” DelVaglio and Joanne “Jojo” Minick and her daughter Rosmarie Dileonardo Holcomb.
Rose is survived by her brother Fred Caruso, Sons: Anthony M. & wife Sandra Dileonardo, Salvatore F and wife Joanne Dileonardo, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
