Margaret Arlene Christensen Nygard gently departed for Heaven on Tuesday,December 16, 2014.

She was born in Travis County, Texas on July 14, 1928 to Arthur A. and Margaret (Smith) Christensen. She grew up in the Kimbro Community. She was married to Carl Kermit Nygard for 57 years. He preceded her in death in 2004. Arlene was a strong and gracious lady who was also a loving and loved mother to her 4 children: Joy McKnight (Tommy) Conroe, Texas; Mark Nygard (Nina) Elgin, Texas; Grace Townsend (Jack) Dripping Springs, Texas; and Judy Bolton (Bob) Beaumont, Texas. She is also survived by her two brothers; J.L. “Chris” Christensen (Mary), and Bernard Christensen (Arleen). Arlene was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was a beloved and faithful member of the Yegua Creek Evangelical Free Church,Type, Texas. She was a gifted Sunday school teacher and servant of her Savior. Her artistic and creative talents reflected her inner and outer beauty.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday , December 19, 2014, Providence Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin, Texas.

Services to honor her life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 20, 2014, Yegua Creek Evangelical Free Church, Type. Burial will be in the Yegua Creek Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
