Dorita Sanchez Muniz

Dorita Sanchez Muniz (Doris) 83; A Devoted mother, wife, grandmother, of Elgin, Texas passed away on October 26, 2014.

Doris was born July 14, 1931 in the once known Prewitt Brick yard of Elgin, Texas to Pedro and Andrea Sanchez. Doris Lived in Elgin all her life where she met and married her husband of 54 years Adrian Sanchez Muniz (1928-2003) in 1949.

Doris retired after 28 years of service from the Austin State School. Doris was a dedicated Elgin Wildcats, Dallas Cowboys, and UT Longhorn fan. She watched their games and knew the scores and standings. Doris was also the #1 fan of “Elvis” and kept his picture in her room up until her passing.

Doris could always be counted on to help her family and provided many home cooked meals and celebrations at her home, always bringing the large family together for holidays, birthdays and reunions. Her main love of her life was her family, she was the mother to seven children.

She is proceeded in death by both of her parents, her loving husband, and Brother Pete Sanchez of Houston.

Doris is survived by her daughter Yolanda Meza (Juan), Maria Helen Wynkoop, Sylvia (Kenneth) Lopez, Adrian (Frances) Muniz, Ernest (Estella) Muniz, Robert (Brenda) Muniz, Oscar (Michelle) Muniz, sisters; Oralia Espinoza and Aurora Amaro, brothers; Frank Sanchez, Robert Sanchez, Oscar Sanchez, 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren

A Visitation will be held Thursday October 30, 2014 5:00PM to 7:00PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00PM, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Celebration of Mass Christian Burial 1:00PM Saturday, November 1, 2014, Sacred Heart Catholic Church,Elgin, Texas. Interment will follow in the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
