Gary Wayne Beauchamp, age 47, of McDade departed his earthly home October 10, 2014 after sustaining fatal injuries in a two car accident.
Gary was born July 22, 1967 in Baytown, Texas to proud parents Larry and Elizabeth (Bostic) Beauchamp. Gary attended school in Lexington, Texas and graduated in the LHS Class of 1985. He actually walked across the stage just 6 weeks following a traumatic brain injury. His recovery was a miracle.
He was known as an “unforgettable character” and Gary had a unique laugh and a generous heart and was unselfish towards others. He wanted to follow in the footsteps of his loving father, Larry Wayne Beauchamp, who taught him many intangibles along the way as a “master welder” and auto enthusiast. Gary adored his nieces and nephews and spent countless hours “reading books, playing games and entertaining their every wish.”
Sadly, Gary suffered a traumatic brain injury 4 months before his father’s untimely and unfortunate death in 1985, both resulting from automobile rollovers. Gary’s traumatic brain injury changed all our lives forever, yet brought us closer as a family.
Gary’s brain injury was profound, yet he made great strides, that surprised the entire medical team. He had to learn to walk, talk, and relearn all activities of daily living. His injury caused tremendous challenges, but his positive attitude was unwavering. The resulting complications after the coma, presented great challenges, adversity, and frustration for Gary, and hence, the entire Beauchamp family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Larry Wayne Beauchamp, and Elizabeth Bostic Beachamp; his brother Jason Warren Beauchamp; paternal grandparents Tom and Etta Beauchamp; and maternal grandfather Lawrence “Shorty” Bostic. He is survived by his sister Julie Beauchamp Erwin and brother-in-law Mark Erwin; grandmother Ruth Bostic; Gary’s three nephews Jacob and Jansen Jaeger, and Gatlin Kirk; nieces Kendyl, Madison, and McKenna Kirk. Gary is also survived by his loving Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
