Manuel C. Melendez

Manuel C. Melendez, 68 of Bastrop passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Manuel was born September 19, 1945 in Mexico to Alejandro and Antonia Melendez. Manuel loved fishing; he was a carpenter by trade and built his own home; he was a very talented craftsman. Manuel was a hardworking, humble, and caring man. He was preceded in death by his sister Lupe Bermejo.

He is survived by his wife Frances C. Barron; sons Robert Melendez, Johnny Melendez, Alex Melendez, Ruben Melendez, and Matthew Melendez; daughter Christina Melendez; stepsons Robert Drake, Robin Drake, Riley Drake and Ricky Drake; stepdaughter Deborah Ledesma; brother Jesus Melendez; sisters Aurora Melendez, Irma Herrera, Elvida Melendez, and Juanita Melendez; numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.


Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 7:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2014, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2014, Elgin Latin Cemetery.
