Andrew A. Washington

August 11, 1965 — June 18, 2014

Andrew Anthony Washington, 49-years-old, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, after his courageous fight with cancer. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried him through his final days.

Andrew was born on August 11, 1965 in Bastrop, Texas to Jerry and Linda Washington. He was the oldest of 6 children. Andrew’s parents instilled the importance of love and caring for others as a child, which continued throughout his life. He was a hard-working man, straight forward, wonderful husband, proud father and grandfather.
Known for his ease in frequent conversation with total strangers, some may be surprised to learn of the extreme shyness of his youth. His signature gift of joy, shown through his constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

After graduating from Bastrop High School, he worked many jobs, but took great pride in being a cement masonry. He enjoyed fishing, working on classic trucks, gardening, and reading old novels.
