Patsy Jean Gold Palmer went home to her Savior on Sunday, March 23, 2014. She passed away peacefully at Elgin Nursing Home and is in the loving arms of her family who went home before her.
Patsy was born to Garlton and Ruby Nell Gold on June 29, 1939 in rural Elgin, Texas on the family home place. She grew up in and around Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School in 1957. Patsy attended college at Mary Hardin-Baylor and Howard Payne. On February 16, 1988, she was married to Landa “Ray” Palmer of Elgin until his death in 2006.
Patsy was a loving and caring person who wrote beautiful poetry and had many friends there at Elgin Nursing Home. She loved her family and loved her Lord tremendously.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, grandparents Elmo and Lucy Gold, a nephew, James David Gold, and an infant sister.
Patsy is survived by her brother, David E. Gold (her “Bubba”) and wife Linda of Round Rock, nephew Mark Gold and wife MaryAnn of Round Rock, niece-in-law Dawn Gold of Verona, Wisconsin, great-nephews Ethan and Christian Gold of Round Rock, and Michael and Tyler Gold of Verona, Wisconsin.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Elgin Nursing Home and the hospice staff for taking care of Patsy.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 28, 2014, Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Elgin, Texas.
