Catherine Inglis Kennedy

Catherine Kennedy, age 88 was born November 24, 1925 in Mooresville, AL. She was the youngest of nine children born to the late William Walter Inglis and Fanny Claytor Inglis. She joined her Lord and Savior on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2014.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church - Pflugerville, she loved to travel, to cook, and entertain her family and friends.

Catherine married Melvin Kennedy in 1944 and they raised three children and operated several businesses including an Auto Repair Shop in Decatur, AL before retiring to travel. They were both avid Bridge players and active in a local RV Club. They loved to travel especially in their RV and spent the winter months in South Texas. After Melvin passed away in 1991 she moved to Texas full time.

She is preceded in death by Melvin Kennedy, her husband of 47 years, her daughter, Kay Kennedy and son James Kennedy along with her parents and siblings.

Survivors include her son, Harold Kennedy of Pflugerville, TX; two grandchildren, Tanya Simon of Trussville, AL and Melissa Covington of Olive Branch, MS and two great grandchildren, Connor Simon and Kennedy Covington.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Decatur, AL with the Reverend Jackie Kay of Central Park Baptist Church officiating.
