Clara Beaver

Clara Belle Beaver age 84 of Elgin went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014 .

She was born on June 24, 1929 in New Sweden Texas to Lee and Eva Lawhon.

She grew up in Bishop Texas on a farm and graduated from Corpus Christi Ray High School in 1947. She met Clifford Alton Beaver in February of 1953 and they were married on July 21, 1953

Clara loved her dogs and her last one “Duchess” was especially dear to her. She loved to work outside in the yard and she and Clifford received the “Yard of the Month” award several times in the subdivision where they lived.

She worked as an accountant for the Austin Independent School District for many years and enjoyed a long and happy retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers.

She is survived only by her husband of 60 years, Clifford Beaver.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. A celebration of Clara's Life will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
