Jane K. Swope

On December 19, 2013 Jane Kathryn Swope went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Jane was born in Davilla Texas on December 17, 1928 to Jessie Cox Ledger and Gene Ledger. She was supported and loved by 10 brothers and sisters. On July 9th, 1947 she married the love of her life Howard "Buster" Swope. They were married for 63 years before Buster went home to his Lord and Savior. They had 5 children Howard Barton Swope Jr., Deborah Kaechele, Ricky Swope, Suzanne Gonzalez and Jim Swope.
Surviving Jane are her 5 children and extended children, Betty Swope, John Kaechele, Roland Gonzalez, Bobi Swope, her 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Jane was known by her family as Nana. She was famous for her home cooking and making you always feel like you were the most special person in the world.
Jane was not only the best mom in the world but she was a successful business woman too. She was a Manager of Sears and Roebuck for 25 years before retiring. After retiring from Sears she took up full time service at her local church where she was a great servant leader. While she will be missed by all, her last wish would be "Don't worry about me you go on and have fun."
Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Providence Jones Family Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at Cedar Valley Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Speir Cemetery.
