Vivian Elaine Mckee

Vivian Elaine McKee age 70 of Coupland, Texas passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013.

Elaine was born January 25, 1943 In Weslaco, Texas to Leon and Doris Whitaker. She was a school teacher for over 30 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Elgin where she was very involved, including singing in the Choir.

Some of Elaine’s favorite hobbies were sewing, crafts, and playing the piano, but her biggest joy came from mowing her yard on her John Deer tractor.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her loving husband, Walter McKee of Coupland, mother, Doris Whitaker of Weslaco, daughters; Kimberley McKee of Elgin, Gayla Turner and husband Jon of Coupland, brothers; Jerry Whitaker of Edinberg, and Roger Whitaker of Weslaco. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, December 20,2013, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin. A Celebration of Elaine’s Life will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2013, First Baptist Church-Elgin. She will be laid to rest in the Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
