Michael David Calhoun, age 58 of Coupland, Texas passed this life suddenly on November 15, 2013.
Mike was born in Champaign,
Illinois on October 13, 1955 to Glen & Jo Calhoun and was the oldest of four children .
He is survived by his wife Laurie Calhoun; son Kristopher Calhoun of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law Jill Calhoun of Austin, Texas; Parents Glen and Jo Calhoun of Sun City, Texas; Sister Cathy Slobojan of Austin, Texas; Sister Jeri Cloud and husband Bill of Lampasas, Texas; Sister Susan Calhoun of Austin, Texas, nephew Matt Calhoun and his daughters Jocelyn and Lana of Burnet, and countless friends.
Mike left us doing what he loved to do, riding his Harley motorcycle until a distracted driver took his life. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast for forty plus years and was very skilled in the art of riding. Mike was a cherished friend and a mentor to many from all walks of life.
Mike was a Master electrician and proud member of I.B.E.W. Local 520 for over 18 years. He enjoyed the hard work and especially working with his union brothers at KST and Schmidt Electric.
Mike and Laurie enjoyed the simple joys of sitting on the porch of the house they built in the evenings, taking great vacations to many different islands and being with friends and family. Plans had been made to renew their tenth anniversary vows in Key West in February of 2014.
