Irene Louise Felder Heine passed away peacefully in the early morning hours Friday, October 4th, with her family by her side, to be reunited with her beloved husband, Gus C. Heine, of 35 years, who preceded her in death on January 21, 1977. Irene was born into God's hand December 29, 1921, at her parents' farm home on Felder Lane near Rice's Crossing, Coupland, Texas, to Herman and Emma Hees Felder who preceded her in death as did a sister, Bernice Allen of Pflugerville. She was baptized in 1922, confirmed in 1936 and married the love of her life, Gus Heine, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richland, Texas, Travis County. They lived and farmed most of their life in the New Sweden community until their later years and then moved to Austin. She remained there until her husband's death. Then she moved to Elgin to be near her daughter. She baby sat and did ironing in her home. In her early years she wrote many articles for the Elgin Courier about the Richland news. Irene had great strength, loving spirit, and was a hard worker. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will deeply miss her.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Heine Mogonye and Tracy Mogonye of Elgin, Harold and Victoria Heine of Spicewood, Calvin and Carol Heine of Round Rock, Don and Judi Heine of Georgetown. Grandchildren, Bryan and Tammie Case of Beaumont, Kevin and Dede Knight of Salado, Michael and Crystal Knight of Elgin, Kurt Mogonye of Stephenville, Jon-Erik Mogonye of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Diana Moncure of Bastrop, Marsha and Darrin Bickman of Hattlesville, Lynn and Ty Voight, Greg and Robin Heine of Taylor, Bobby Heine of Austin, Stephanie Heine of Bastrop. Great-grandchildren Bryan Case Jr., Benjamin and Ashley Case of Beaumont, Lance, Garrett, and Jessica Knight of Salado, Madison and Nicollette of Elgin, Cody and Tyler Witt of Taylor, Colton and Hunter Heine of Taylor, Courtney McVay and Christian Moncure of Bastrop, Lane Linhart of Hattlesville, James Bailey of Austin, and Victoria's children and grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Providence Jones Funeral Home, Elgin, Tx. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wed. Oct. 9, 2013, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 401 East 8th Street, Elgin. Graveside will be private for immediate family at Capital Memorial Park, Pflugerville, Tx. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
Pallbearers are Bryan Case, Jr., Kevin Knight, Michael Knight, Greg Heine, Bobby Heine, Kurt Mogonye, Jon-Erik Mogonye and James Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren.
