Herbert "Happy" Ewald Fenske

Herbert “Happy” Ewald Fenske age 94 of Elgin passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Herbert was born January 20, 1919 in Riesel, Texas to Ewald and Ida Finn Fenske. He was raised on a farm and farmed early in life. He started religious work by selling books and Bibles and later worked as a Machinist for Texas Nuclear at the University of Texas where he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Elgin. He loved making wood art, gardening, raising roosters and chickens, and Playing 42.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Freda in 1983.
He is survived by his son David Fenske and wife Shirley, son Earl Fenske, daughter Ruth Stifflemire and husband Fred, daughter Dorothy Stifflemire and husband Charles Nicholson and a sister Elda Federwisch. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren.

Services for Herbert Ewald Fenske - Visitation will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013, 6:00-8:00 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services, Friday, August 2, 2013 2:00 PM Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment to follow at PeeLee Cemetery, Elgin, Texas.
