Kenneth G. Payne and Phyllis J. Payne of Elgin, Tx passed away on May 24, 2013 in Elgin, Tx.

A memorial service will be held in Elgin, Tx at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home on Saturday June 1st at 2:00pm with Reverend Joyce McCormick of First United Methodist Church officiating.

Kenneth was born in Ryan, Ok to Kenneth W. Payne and Dorothy J. Robnett on July 27, 1952. He served his country honorably as a electronics technician for the U.S.Navy on a nuclear submarine from 1970 to 1976. He made his living as
a iron worker for for over 30 years, was a certified scuba diver, enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, helping friends and neighbors with various projects, and loved to travel.

Phyllis was born in Duncan, Ok to Leonard W. Hare and Allie M. Thomas on June 21, 1950. She made her living working in construction, owned her own business and worked for the University of Texas for over 20 years and retired in 2009. She was a member of the Elgin Garden Club and enjoyed gardening, cooking, ceramics, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Leonard Hare and Allie Thomas her brothers, Roy Hare, Harold Hare and Joseph Hare and sisters, Ima Jean Parnell, Janice Bykofsky, and Sharon Hare.

Kenneth is survived by his father Kenneth W. Payne of Duncan,Ok, his mother Dorothy J. Moore of Ryan, Ok, brother Jerry Payne of Ryan, Ok, sisters Debbie Adkisson of Lenorah, Tx and Connie Delaney of Ryan, Ok, daughter Misty Anderson of Spicewood, Tx, and son Carlos Whitcomb of Elgin, Tx.

Phyllis is survived by her brothers Charles Hare of Ponca City, Ok, Bobby Hare of Yukon, Ok, and Fred Hare of Fertile, Iowa, daughter Misty Anderson of Spicewood, Tx, and son Carlos Whitcomb of Elgin, Tx.

Kenneth and Phyllis were blessed to be part of large families and are also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elgin Garden Club at c/o Bonnie Groves 402 N. Ave. A, Elgin, Tx 78621.
