Karen Nesbitt

March 7, 1947 — April 21, 2013

Karen Marie Rainey Nesbitt, beloved wife, mother, and friend, fell asleep in Jesus and entered into eternal glory with God in heaven on Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was born on March 7, 1947 in Akron, Ohio, the only child of Franklin and Thelma Marie Rainey. She worked as a bank clerk and secretary. After marrying her beloved husband, George Nesbitt, on July 13, 1984, she became a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting and being outdoors, but above all, spending time with George and their daughter, Elizabeth Nesbitt.

Alongside George and Beth, Karen was reborn into God’s Kingdom by Holy Baptism on July 19, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin. Her Christian faith was nourished by the Word of God preached and the Lord’s Supper distributed first by Pastor Bryan Sullivan and later by Pastor Carl Roth.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Jennifer Marie Nesbitt. She is survived by her husband George and daughter Elizabeth, both of Elgin, by her best friend, Judy Weisner, and by numerous other friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, with Pastor Roth officiating. Karen’s family has asked that memorials given in honor of her be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 801 W. 11th St., Elgin, TX 78621.

Though we mourn because of Karen’s death, we take comfort from the truth that she was saved for everlasting resurrected life by God’s grace, through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be glory forever!
