Mary Kathryn “Kathy” DeLuca
Kathy passed away peacefully on April 11, 2013 at home surrounded by her family in Elgin, TX.

Kathy was born in Gunnison, CO on January 25, 1949 to Charles H. Nachtrieb Jr. and Francis L. (Luttrell) Nachtrieb.

Kathy attended school in Buena Vista, CO and Taos, NM. She graduated from Cochise College in Douglas, AZ in 1987 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for over twenty years primarily in the Emergency Department and PACU. She dedicated her life to caring for and helping others.

Kathy had a passion for life that showed through her bright smile and positive energy that was contagious to all who were around her. She loved her family with all her heart.

She is survived by her brothers, Chuck (Roberta) Nachtrieb of Buena Vista, CO. and Dana (Dee) Nachtrieb of Poncha Springs, CO. Daughters, Kathryn “Michelle” Smith of Austin, TX. and Theresa L. DeLuca of Elgin, TX. Son, Earl “Alan” Fansler of Austin, TX. Grandchildren, Patricia Fansler, Denise Smith, Zackarey Fansler, and Jade DeLuca. Great-grandchildren, Derek and Denzel Demaree, Tristen and Karissa Fansler.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2013 Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, Elgin, TX and burial will be held at a later date in Nathrop, CO at the Nathrop family cemetery.

Kathy was truly an amazing, giving, compassionate, caring, and loving mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. She will be missed by all whose life she has touched!
