Jimmie Lee Wade, age 88 of Elgin went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, February 19, 2013. Jimmie was born in Elgin, Texas December 16, 1924. After graduation from High School he joined the United States Army, he was stationed in Germany, and landed on Normandy right after D-Day in June of 1944. Upon return to the States, he married Helen Jones from Elgin. As newlyweds the couple resided in Elgin on Carter Street where he repaired cars. Jimmie decided to pursue training in the mechanical field and attended Cen-Tex Vocational College in Taylor for two years. He then went to work at Davis-Schanhals Pontiac in Elgin where he stayed for about 20 years. In 1976 he struck out on his own and opened his own shop, Jimmie’s Auto Repair, he was a successful businessman. He also enjoyed traveling abroad with his family. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife Helen Ruth Wade, and mother Maggie Wade Ollie. He is survived by his daughter Veronica Lynn Wade-Buster and husband Oscar; sisters Sarah Ollie Perkins, Addie Ollie Madison, and Lerene Ollie Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, February 26, 2013, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Homegoing service will be 11:00am Wednesday, February 27, 2013, Mt Moriah Baptist Church with Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sayersville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
