Jessie Lynn Rowe Stagner

Jessie Lynn Rowe Stagner, age 96, was called home to the Lord on November 18, 2012, in Austin, Texas. Jessie Lynn was born on December 18, 1915, in McDade, Texas to Ada and Warren Rowe, one of 4 daughters. She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Kentric Stagner, and her three sisters, Gertrude, Maureen, and Frances.

Jessie Lynn was taught from an early age to honor God’s teaching. She worked to maintain her home with her mother and sisters, especially after her father died at a young age. Because of Jessie Lynn’s faith in God and love for family, she rarely had a day that was not filled with caring for others, and that diligent servant heart continued to serve into her 96th year of life. Jessie Lynn was affectionately known as “Teet” – a nickname given by her younger sister attempting to say “sweet.” The name was appropriate.

From another McDade family came the love of Jessie’s life, Kentric Stagner, and they married on February 29, 1936. Jessie Lynn is survived by their two children: Wilbur Terry Stagner and wife Shirley and Nancy Stagner Tindel and husband Jerry.

Jessie was loving and generous with her time and made her home a wellspring of blessing for her husband, her children, and all who entered. Their marriage was a godly example to all who loved them. Jessie Lynn taught children’s Bible classes and was a faithful member of the McDade Church of Christ for over 70 years.

Jessie Lynn is also survived by her five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly.

The family will receive guests at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2012 , Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at McDade Cemetery.
