Morton Gerald Butler

Morton G. Butler “Mort” was born March 30, 1931 in Albany, NY. He passed away March 23, 2012. His parents were Alfred Butler and Ester Blank.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Lt. Col. Joseph C. Butler who was in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Butler, his sisters, Evelyn Rhine and Lucille Garfield, step-children; Jennifer Jordan & family of Elgin, Tx.; Matt Larsen & family of Colubus, GA.; and Chris Larsen & family of Katy, Texas; daughter-in-law, Pat Butler and family of Boerne, Texas; also 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mort worked as a field service engineer at numerous large companies including GeoSource Geophysical & Lamsen Inc. & Tanknology. He also had his own computer consultant company since 1998. He traveled all over the world during his working years, the middle east, Australia, Europe, South America and the North Slope in Alaska. He enjoyed camping and his Mac computer and visiting family and friends from coast to coast.

Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
Service will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Youngs Prairie Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, Elgin.
