Lois Lea (Matthews) Lawler

Lois Lea Matthews, 71, of Elgin, Texas passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011. She was born June 11, 1940 in Pigeon Grove Township, Illinois to Elmer O. and Anna M. Schell Matthews.
Lois worked as a newspaper carrier in Peoria, Illinois and also upon moving to Texas in 1985. She retired after 20 years. She moved to Elgin, Texas in 2004.
Lois was a resident of Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She enjoyed reading mystery novels, puzzles, watching television and being a loving grandmother. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elgin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and five brothers.

Surviving Lois are her son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Karen Lawler, and grandson Derek Lawler, all of Elgin, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Elgin with Pastor Carl Roth officiating.
