Linda L. Welch Kuehn died on Dec. 6, 2011 at St. David’s, Austin, Tx. from a stroke at the age of 65 years. Born one of four children in Nacogdoches, Texas on September 22, 1946 to Frank and Blanche Mitchell Welch where they lived after WWII. Shortly there after they moved to Houston, Tx. where she was raised as a Baptist and Baptized at Cottage Grove Baptist Church. When she was 18 yrs old she met her husband of 47 years Elroy Kuehn from Giddings, Tx. She married him on June 27, 1964, she became his right hand and was right beside him the rest of her life. She was then confirmed at Messiah Lutheran in Houston, Tx. They raised four children in the Heights and Spring Branch area. While living in Houston she worked for Software Shoes for a number of years. In Oct. 1984 they moved to Lexington, Tx. (Blue area) where she was able to have her dream of a small ranch. They became members of Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin, Tx. In the last years of her life she worked at the VFW Hall in Elgin, Tx. She made many friends throughout her life. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, genealogy, gardening, collecting cookbooks, and crafts. She had the most beautiful voice and Linda loved to sing.
She is survived by her husband; Elroy Kuehn, 3 daughters, Tamar Davis & Arthur of Leander, Tx.; Terri Brister & Richard of Lexington, Tx.; Traci Wooddell & Samuel of Temple, Tx.; 1 son, Travis Kuehn & Kathy of Elgin, Tx.; grandchildren, Anjela Davis, Sarah Davis, James Wooddell, Christopher Kuehn, Dalton Brister, Jonathan Wooddell, Devon Kuehn, Dylan Brister, Jacob Wooddell, Delaney Brister, Kayla Kuehn and Ethan Kuehn; great-grandchildren; Dakota Dawson, Braden Davis, Serenity Davis; sister, Frances Welch of Conroe, Tx., Brother, Robert Welch & Jeannie of Conroe, Tx., Sister-in-law; Alice Sparks & Jim of Manchaca, Tx., Sister-in-law; Shirley Adkins & Roy Capps of Fairfield, Tx.; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Blanche Welch; and a sister; Wanda Young.
Visistation will be Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6-8 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 9 at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin.
