Dita Pauline Bearden

Dita Pauline McReaken Bearden was born April 30, 1920 on the family farm in Sorento, Illinois. She was the daughter of Arthur E. McReaken and Amy Louise Cunningham McReaken. Dita passed away November 19, 2011 under the loving care of Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elgin, Tx. and Heart to Heart Hospice with close family members by her side. Dita married Ira Valdene Bearden in St. Louis, Mo. on June 4, 1939 residing in West Frankfort, Johnston City, and Villa Grove, IL. For 11 years. The Beardens moved to Houston, Tx. with their daughter Ardith in 1950.

Dita is survived by her daughter, Ardith Evadene Drosche and husband Keith of Elgin, Tx.; grandson, Royce Gray and wife Lynette of LaVernia, Tx.; granddaughter, Penny Kay Holcomb and husband Ricky of Cedar Park, Tx.; and beloved sisters-in-law; Dorothy McReaken of Marion, IL., Margaret Wright & Hazel Prock of West Frankfort, IL., honorary granddaughter, Janeda Gray, five great-grandchildren; Kevin Gray, Brittney Holcomb Harper and husband Jeremy, Garren, Derrick and Brianna Kay Holcomb; two great-great grandsons Colton Harper and Raidyn Holcomb, two step granddaughters Robin Drosche Corrigan and husband Joe, Kara Drosche Logan and husband Rick, eight step great grandchildren and three step great great grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews, great & great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by death by her parents, four brothers Oscar, Charles (Bid), Paul and Dayton McReaken, her five sisters, Naomi Gunn, Helen Dunning, Dorothy Durham, Charlotte Brunton and Orolene Britton. Dita is affectionately known as Mother, Mimi, Aunt Dita and Mimi Dita by family and close friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, December 9, 2011 at 1 PM at Northwest Baptist Church, 6301 Woodrow Ave., Austin, Tx. with Rev. Dr. John Ahn officiating.
