Laverne Lawhon

LaVerne Lawhon, age 79 of Elgin Passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at her residence.
LaVerne was born January 2, 1932 in Elgin to Amon and Aurelia Lawhon. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elgin and worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety for over 30 Years.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by Sons; Keith Hanson, Dudley Hanson and wife Peggy, brothers; Larry Lawhon and Sidney Lawhon; Grandchildren; Jessica Wilhelm and husband Jeff, Patricia Morrow and husband Miles, and Anna Hanson; Great grandchildren, Christian, Josh, and Jared.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Providence- Jones Family Funeral in Elgin. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joyce McCormick Officiating. Interment will follow at the Young’s Prairie Cemetery, near Elgin.

Services are entrusted to Providenc-Jones Family Funeral Home.
