Jacob Kenneth Lindgren (Ken) was peacefully called home to the Lord surrounded by his family, June 15, 2011 at the age of 65, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Ken was born August 23, 1945 in Austin, Texas. He was a farmer/rancher in the Manor and Elgin communities for over 20 years with specific interest in the livestock industry.
Ken thrived on his love for livestock shows and helping his children, grandchildren, and other 4-H/FFA members succeed. He was instrumental in raising many champions at major livestock shows and enjoyed the friendships he made along the way. Ken enjoyed being at the show barn and worked hard to be in the winner’s circle.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Enoch Wilgert Lindgren and mother, Jessie Aubrey Kruse Lindgren. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Prinz Lindgren; daughters, Amy Pearson and husband Richard, Tana Keeling and husband Doug; sons, Bryan Lindgren and Linda Miller, Travis Lindgren and wife Angie, Jason Lindgren and wife Meggan; grandchildren, Kelsey, Wyatt, and Rowdy Pearson, Garrett and Kailyn Keeling, Tyler Lindgren, Sayleigh Pearson, and Aaron Duenez. He is also survived by his siblings, Kay Varley and husband Gene, Buddy Lindgren and wife Mae, Lanell Robbins and husband Lester, Wayne Lindgren and wife Gay, James Wheat and wife Debbie.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2011, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, Providence Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North, Elgin, Texas. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 18, 2011, 10:00 am, Yegua Creek Evangelical Free Church, 1200 County Road 466, Elgin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a scholarship fund to honor 4-H/FFA members, donations may be made to the Ken Lindgren Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First National Bank, PO Box 511, Elgin, Texas 78621.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Gary Warner, Melvin Dube, Joe Hughes, Colby Goodson, Keith Toomer, Kent Betts, Randy Moe, and Richard Johnson.
