Lena Virginia Sandifer

Lena Virginia Sandifer, 87, of Bastrop passed away May 19, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, C.B. (Bill) Sandifer; two daughters, Nancy Felps & husband Kenneth of Bastrop; Lucy Woodall & husband Jack of Cedar Creek; four grandsons, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law Emma George Smarr of Stonewall & numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Roger & Irene McCreery; two brothers, Lloyd McCreery & wife Gladys and Lester McCreery.

Virginia was active in the VFW auxiliary for many years where she held numerous offices including auxiliary president, District 28 President and County Council President.

Visitation will be held at the Providence -Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21,2011 at 2 PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elgin Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home.
