Cynthia (Cindy) Kay Wilson, age 60, of Elgin, TX, departed this life on April 6, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She is the daughter of Lloyd and Gladys McCreery of Elgin who predeceased her.
Visitation will be Friday, 6Pm to 8PM at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home of Elgin. Celebration of Life services will be 4PM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Elgin Cemetery. Rev. Mark Nygard will officiate.
Cindy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin. She was a lifelong Elgin resident. Cindy was a 1968 graduate of Elgin High School where she was a cheerleader. She became a nurse and worked in the medical field in Austin and surrounding counties.
Cindy is survived by one son, Brandon Wilson and wife Lara of McDade, TX, two grandchildren, RC and Lily Wilson of McDade; sisters, Sue Funk and husband Bill of Terre Haute, IN and Rebecca (Becky) Campbell and husband Pete of Farmersville, TX; one niece, Djanedi Cardwell and husband Paul of Terre Haute, IN; paternal aunt, Ms. Virginia Sandifer and husband Bill of Bastrop; Maternal uncle, Mr. Oliver Whitten and wife Helen of Elgin, TX and six cousins; Ms. Nancy Felps of Bastrop, Ms. Lucy Woodall of Bastrop, Ms. Eve Raine of Austin, Mr. David Whitten of Elgin, Mr. Randy Whitten of Lake Jackson and Mr. Glen Whitten of College Station, TX.
