Gary H Bacon

Gary H Bacon (Bubba), 64, of Elgin, passed away on December 28, 2010 in Austin, Texas.

Gary was born in Syracuse, New York to Grace A Schmidtka-Vandever and Howard Bacon on June 14, 1946. He graduated from Waltrip High School in Houston, Texas in 1966. He joined the Air Force right after graduating. He served from 1966 to 1981. He married Cynthia (Gustafson) Bacon on April 27, 1974 in Austin, Texas. He worked for the Exxon Company for 20 years. He was a hilarious, loving, and peaceful man who would give you the shirt off his back. There wasn’t anything he could not fix. Gary loved to work on all types of cars.

Gary is preceded in death by his mom, Grace Vandever, dad, Loyd Vandever, father Howard Bacon, and grandson, Chris Miller.

Gary is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia Bacon, daughter Denise Miller and husband Dennis, son Jason Bacon, sister Audrey Cravatt husband Garry, “sister” Pam Staruska husband Kenneth, grandson Keith (Peanut) Miller, a multitude of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and countless other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Memorials may be given to his wife, Cynthia Bacon, and sister, Audrey Cravatt.
